This article is the operator's manual for the JUCY Coaster Gen2 campervan. It covers starting the vehicle, windows and blinds, the 12-volt electrical system, fresh and grey water, portable toilet cassette, portable gas stove, tap and sink, fridge, lights, USB chargers, the Luton table, bed setup, storage, and refuelling.
Need-to-know
- Fuel type: Diesel only. The fuel cap is marked "DIESEL". If filled with unleaded fuel, water, or AdBlue - do not start the engine. Call JUCY Roadside Assistance.
- Daily drive time: 4–6 hours per day to keep the domestic 12-volt battery charged (powers water pump, esky, and interior lights).
- 12-volt panel: Located in the kitchen area at the rear of the vehicle. Must be switched on (green light illuminated) for the water pump, tap, lights, and USB chargers to operate.
- Gas stove: Portable butane cooker. Indoor use only on the kitchen stove. Maximum 15 minutes continuous use. Remove cartridge when not in use.
- Toilet: Portable cassette toilet. Must be emptied and cleaned before returning the vehicle to the depot.
- Handbrake: Located on the left-hand side of the driver's seat. Do not forget to disengage before driving.
- Emergency contact: JUCY Roadside Assistance - call for wrong fuel or any red dash light.
1. Description of keys
Ignition key: Use the ignition key to start your vehicle.
2. Vehicle equipment
Fire extinguisher
Each vehicle is equipped with a dry chemical fire extinguisher, selected to address both Type B fires (grease and liquids) and Type C fires (electrical). The fire extinguisher is attached to the interior of the vehicle.
To deploy the extinguisher:
- Grasp the ring at the top of the bottle.
- Direct the nozzle towards the top of the flames.
- Press the lever down firmly.
- Guide the nozzle from side to side across the base of the flames.
3. Starting the vehicle
The gear stick must be in PARK and your foot on the brake pedal in order for the vehicle to start.
- The dashboard will display a 'P' indicating that the vehicle is in park.
- Start the vehicle using the ignition key.
- With your foot still on the brake pedal, pull the gear stick down into the 'D' position. The dashboard will display a 'D' indicating drive.
Handbrake:
- To disengage: Pull the handbrake down. A red exclamation mark will disappear from the dashboard.
- To engage: Pull the handbrake up. A red exclamation mark will appear on the dashboard.
Note: Handbrake is on the left-hand side of the driver seat. Do not forget to disengage the handbrake before you drive.
4. Windows and blinds
The vehicle is equipped with privacy curtains on the rear windows and in the front cabin. These blinds can be rolled up when not in use.
To open the windows:
- Turn the vent handles inwards.
- Push the window out and click the latch in place.
Each window has a mosquito net and a sun blackout blind. These can be used separately.
- To use the mosquito net: Pull the white blind down using the handle indents.
- To use the sun blackout blind: Pull the blind up using the handle indents.
5. 12-volt electrical system
Your vehicle has two batteries:
- Engine battery - located under the driver's seat.
- Domestic battery - located in the rear of the cabin.
The domestic battery operates the water pump, esky, and interior lights. It is charged by the alternator when the vehicle is being driven.
The 12-volt electrical panel is located on the rear of the vehicle in the kitchen area. To turn it on, switch the power button so the green light is illuminated. This panel operates the water pump and lights and must be turned on at all times to operate any device on the 12-volt system.
Important: It is recommended that the vehicle is driven for 4–6 hours a day so the domestic battery continues to power the 12-volt system.
6. Fresh water tank
The freshwater tank is located in the rear of the vehicle, in the kitchen area.
To fill the freshwater tank:
- Unscrew the "Fresh water only" compartment.
- Remove the cap from the water inlet.
- Place the end of the water hose into the tank and connect the hose to the tap to fill the vehicle with fresh water.
Important tips:
- Do not use too much pressure - the tank must be vented while filling.
- If you get an air bubble, remove the hose, reinsert it, and fill slowly again.
- The tank is full when water starts to overflow from the water inlet.
7. Grey water tank
The grey water holding tank collects wastewater from the kitchen sink.
To empty the grey water tank:
- Collect the grey water hose from the storage compartment.
- Connect the hose to the outlet. Make sure it is firmly attached by pulling down the silver levers on each side of the attachment.
- Place the other end of the hose into the dump station disposal opening.
- Open the tank by turning the blue lever so it is parallel with the pipe and wait for it to empty.
- Once the grey water is empty, close the lever, remove the hose, and stow it away in the storage compartment.
If the grey water tank becomes obstructed:
- Insert a hose into the grey water outlet as far as it reaches.
- Turn on the hose to its highest pressure setting and direct the flow of water into the tank until it reaches full capacity.
- Withdraw the hose to facilitate the flow of grey water.
- Repeat if needed until the obstruction is cleared.
8. Portable toilet cassette
It is highly recommended to regularly empty the toilet cassette. It is mandatory to empty and clean it before returning the vehicle to the depot.
To empty the toilet cassette:
- Empty the toilet cassette when required.
- Rinse the cassette thoroughly and repeat the emptying process.
- Add a toilet chemical along with half to one litre of water.
9. Portable gas stove
The vehicle is equipped with a portable butane gas stove, found in the kitchen compartments inside a black carry case.
- Inside the vehicle, the cooker is to be used only on the kitchen stove.
- It can be used outside on a side table.
- The cooker is designed for very short periods - no longer than 15 minutes at a time.
To start the stove:
- Remove the gas cooker from the black carry case and place it on a flat surface.
- Open the cartridge cover and place the gas cartridge in.
- Turn the ignition knob to OFF and set the cartridge lock lever to UNLOAD.
- Open the cartridge cover, slide the gas cartridge into the compartment, top end first, with its notch facing up.
- Align the cartridge collar notch with the locator tab on the gas cooker.
- Push and turn the knob anticlockwise past the OFF position until a click is heard.

Note: If the burner fails to light, immediately turn the ignition knob to the OFF position and restart again.
Controlling the flame: Turn the ignition knob between HIGH and LOW.
To shut off:
- Turn the ignition knob to OFF to cut the fuel supply.
- Wait until the flame is fully extinguished.
- Raise the cartridge lever to UNLOAD.
- Remove the gas cartridge from the compartment.
Do not leave the gas bottle inside the cooker when not in use.
10. Tap and sink
The vehicle comes equipped with a water system. To operate the tap, turn on the 12-volt control panel by pressing the power button so the green power button illuminates green. The tap switch also needs to be illuminated green for the tap to work.
11. Fridge
The fridge operates via the 12-volt system. To operate the fridge, switch on the power button so it illuminates green.
Important: It is recommended that the vehicle is driven for 4–6 hours a day so the domestic battery continues to power the 12-volt system.
12. Lights
To operate the cabin lights, turn on the 12-volt control panel by pressing the power button so the green power button lights up green.
The switches for the lights are located in the cabin of the vehicle, on the wall across from the bed.
- Flicking the switch upwards illuminates the red light.
- Flicking the switch downwards illuminates the white light.
13. USB chargers
The vehicle is equipped with four USB power points in the kitchen area and four USB power points in the cabin area. These run off the 12-volt battery and will only work if the main power button is switched on.
14. Luton table
To disassemble the table:
- Pull handle 1 out and rotate right. Clip back in and rotate left - repeat to loosen and remove the tabletop.
- Repeat for handles 2 and 3 and remove the table leg.
15. Bed
The vehicle is equipped with one double bed that also serves as the dining area during the day.
To make the bed:
- Remove the table from the dining area (see Section 14 - Luton table for removal instructions).
- Remove all cushions from the dining area.
- Place the table removed in step 1 in the middle of the bed area.
- In the storage compartment under the bed, retrieve the flatbed extension and place it on the end of the bed.
- Place the cushions back on the bed.

16. Storage
The vehicle has a dedicated storage area under the bed and dining area, as well as various drawers and cupboards throughout the vehicle to store personal items.
17. Diesel fuel
The vehicle accepts diesel fuel only. DO NOT refill with any other fuel or fluid.
- The diesel tank cap is marked with "DIESEL" and can be opened by unscrewing the cap.
- The fuel filling location is located next to the passenger door.
- Once filled, place the fuel cap on the inlet and turn it to lock.
Important: If you accidentally fill the vehicle with unleaded fuel, water, or AdBlue - do not start the engine. Call JUCY Roadside Assistance immediately.
